MOXA EDS-G4000: Empowering Industrial Networks with Higher Bandwidth, Faster Recovery, and Trusted Cybersecurity
Headquartered in Pennsylvania, Neutron USA is a nationwide provider of industrial networking solutions that supports industrial automation, transportation, utility, and critical infrastructure customers with technical expertise, application consultation, and long-term supply support. Neutron is pleased to introduce the Moxa EDS-G4000 Series Industrial Managed Ethernet Switches. Designed to address the growing demands of Industrial Ethernet, Edge AI, and digital transformation initiatives, the EDS-G4000 Series provides 8-, 12-, and 14-port configurations, with various combinations of Gigabit Ethernet, combo, and up to six 2.5GbE SFP ports. Selected PoE models support IEEE 802.3bt with up to 90 W per port, while wide-temperature models operate from -40°C to 75°C. Flexible power options support low- and high-voltage applications. Built for demanding industrial environments, the EDS-G4000 Series provides the performance, reliability, and flexibility required for next-generation industrial networking applications.
Edge control cabinets rarely have space to spare. The EDS-G4000 Series is only 55 mm wide, delivering Gigabit performance in a compact DIN-rail housing, and its rotatable power module lets engineers wire power from the front or the top to suit any panel layout. For IP cameras, wireless access points, and edge computing devices, the PoE model delivers up to 90 W per port, while Smart PoE management helps engineers monitor power usage and diagnose connected devices remotely instead of troubleshooting on site. As machine vision, video surveillance, and edge AI move more data across the network, up to six 2.5G SFP ports provide additional uplink bandwidth for aggregating traffic.
Reliability and security are critical. In power substations, motion control, and distributed measurement, devices must share precise timing. The EDS-G4000 Series supports hardware-based IEEE 1588v2 PTP to synchronize devices across the network. When a link fails, network reconvergence can temporarily disrupt real-time communication. Moxa's Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain restore Gigabit networks in under 50 ms, even with up to 250 switches, and MRP support enables ring redundancy in PROFINET environments. As more connected devices create more potential entry points, the EDS-G4000 Series is certified to IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2 and supports features such as DHCP snooping, helping OT teams harden field networks against unauthorized access.
Neutron's mission is to serve as a long-term solution partner, providing application consultation and long-term product availability, not just products. To learn more about the Moxa EDS-G4000 Series, contact us at [email protected].
